When it comes to giving your child the bedroom he or she deserves and will love, it can seem like the pressure is overwhelming to make the perfect children’s bedroom. However, it’s not as hard as it seems. For one thing, children aren’t too picky when it comes to their digs. However, you may still want to give them a fun and memorable bedroom, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If this describes you, you may be looking for some ways to narrow down the infinite possibilities when it comes to renovation and redecoration. Here are a few tips to get your started.
First and foremost, a theme can really make any room come alive, but a theme is even more fun and appropriate for a children’s bedroom. Places to start can be the standard “boy color” blue or “girl color” pink. However, this is the product of a lack of imagination, and a better place to start is by look at your kids’ favorite colors. My son does, in fact, like blue, but my daughter threw gender roles a curve ball and likes red like her father. However, coming up a more scenic theme like an oceanic theme is also a great idea, so giving your walls a coat of paint in shades of blue and greens, such as teal, turquoise, and seafoam, is a great place to start here. Or, some thematic wallpaper with a pattern of seashells works well, too. Finding some decor to further the theme is a must in this case. So, consider fish, mermaid, anchor, or nautical star decor to really make the theme pop. Don’t forgot to make a display out of your child’s interests. If they play sports, put some of their trophies on display, or hang some posters from their favorite movies or games. For all of your home improvement needs, Home Depot has you covered.
